Dr Geert Vanden Bossche describes himself as an independent virologist and vaccine expert who was formerly employed at GAVI and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
This week he wrote an open letter appealing to “all authorities, scientists and experts around the world, to whom this concerns: the entire world population” to immediately halt mass Covid vaccination, claiming there is compelling evidence that the mass rollout will dramatically worsen the consequences of the pandemic.
Entitling his letter, “Why mass vaccination amidst a pandemic creates an irrepressible monster”, he writes:
Basically, we’ll very soon be confronted with a super-infectious virus that completely resists our most precious defence mechanism: The human immune system.
From all of the above, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to imagine how the consequences of the extensive and erroneous human intervention in this pandemic are not going to wipe out large parts of our human population. One could only think of very few other strategies to achieve the same level of efficiency in turning a relatively harmless virus into a bioweapon of mass destruction.
He concludes:
If we, human beings, are committed to perpetuating our species, we have no choice left but to eradicate these highly infectious viral variants. This will, indeed, require large vaccination campaigns. However, NK cell-based vaccines will primarily enable our natural immunity to be better prepared (memory!) and to induce herd immunity (which is exactly the opposite of what current COVID-19 vaccines do as those increasingly turn vaccine recipients into asymptomatic carriers who are shedding virus). So, there is not one second left for gears to be switched and to replace the current killer vaccines by life-saving vaccines.
I am appealing to the WHO and all stakeholders involved, no matter their conviction, to immediately declare such action as THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY OF INTERNATIONAL CONCERN.
Dr Bossche makes a number of dubious assumptions in his doom-laden prognosis and his solution (despite his striking confession that COVID-19 is a “a relatively harmless virus”) is yet more vaccines, just of a different kind. The Zero Covid-like aim is to “eradicate these highly infectious viral variants”.
Dr Clare Craig of HART comments:
Dr Bossche is wrong on vaccines driving variants that evade the natural immune response. I’m also yet to be convinced the Kent variant was any more infectious than the original. The ONS Survey had it falling before Lockdown 3 was announced. At peak cases ONS reckoned 61% of COVID cases in England were new variant, 33% in Northern Ireland, 22% in Scotland and only 5% in Wales – yet all had a winter wave.
We await detailed scientific rebuttals of the various claims in the paper. But the current feeling among a number of sceptical scientists we are in touch with is that the paper greatly exaggerates the capacity of viral variants to evade the human immune system. Upon encountering a virus like SARS-CoV-2, a large repertoire of T-cell epitopes is produced which are capable of dealing with most variants.
UPDATE: Dr Mike Yeadon and Marc Girardot have written a scientific rebuttal to Dr Bossche’s claims, arguing that the recent downward trends in cases and hospitalisations across the globe indicate that the virus has probably not mutated in a way that makes it much more dangerous and that a healthy immune system is very capable of dealing with these new forms of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. There is also the question of some vaccines (*cough*) making the recipient more susceptible to “cytokine storm” reactions to the wild virus.

I guess what will happen is water will find its natural level and you find that some articles will attract more attention.Don’t forget when the number of comments went past 2000 it became hard to navigate.

I have to admit, the existence of a whole range of “vaccines” that do not confer sterilising immunity, but actively suppress symptoms and illness while tolerating a live virus load does sound alarming, and it is very reminiscent of the situation in HIV. In the 00s as anti-HIV drugs became more effective, it became common for gay men to skip doses (to avoid AEs and DDIs, particularly with recreational dance drugs). The result was a sudden uptick in mutations. Virus reservoirs became ideal incubating chambers for mutations. The ARVs are so effective now that we have not seen a mutation that cannot be tackled, but it is alarming, and the introduction of Prep could lead to similar effects, as a viral load too small to be infectious does not mean no viral population at all.
From that perspective, Bossche’s warning does ring alarm bells. And of course, the population is so much greater, and the rate of mutation of coronaviruses is magnitudes higher than of HIV. No worries though, because any such creation of walking mutation factories would be picked up in the normal years of safety observation before licensing. Oh, wait….
I think rushing out a vaccine after only several months testing (and that was just to see if it reduced symptoms in young and healthy volunteers) is ok if you are giving it to a small number of hyper-vulnerable people. To then take that 6 month old vaccine and coerce the entire population to have it is madness. Maybe it will be fine – maybe it won’t – who knows – they certainly don’t because they haven’t done the testing.
This has to be resisted. If the government thinks the correct response to a new pathogen is to lockdown until they rush something out then we will have a disaster sooner or later.
It’s not remotely okay giving a rushed vaccine to the vulnerable if it kills them and that seems to be happening far too often.

In my naive view of how these novel vaccines work, its that they implant micro generators of the virus inside our cells. Somehow this is low-level and means that when we come in touch with a ‘wild’ virus we don’t get particularly ill because our system is used to living with it. So if it works its a therapy specifically to stop us overwhelming the health service. Potential problems are; -we don’t know if this virus factory in our cells might not go out of control and cause a cytokine storm and kill us -it may mean we pass on the virus, it confers little or no infectuous relief -it may not last long -having millions of live pools of virus in our cells may introduce the risk of rapid and dangerous amounts of variants, some of which may be deadly ( latest scare) I have no way of knowing how to put risk quantities on these, but for a ‘disease’ ( covid seems to me to be syndrome, not a diseases as such) with an IFR of 0.23% it seems unbelievably idiotic to continue with a campaign that can expose us to these risks. I don’t think it causes cells to create viruses. As I understand it, the mRNA vaccines “reprogramme” some cells to produce just the virus protein spike, which then primes your immune system to recognise it and destroy it. Definitely still raises a lot of questions (which cells, for how long, what are the short and long-term effects; if your brain cells suddenly start spewing out viral protein spikes, that seems like something to be concerned about etc.)

Think they’re onto a winner with the Covid vax. As a bonus, the Big Banks make loadsamoney out of the Covid loans (to closed businesses and Government / the public). As you say unholy alliance between Big Pharma, Banks, Big Tech and Government; in fact they are pretty undistinguishable, same people same motives. Power and Greed.
The only thing that has changed is that the Beast has raised its head clearly above the parapet and now openly wants to control everybody and everything.
Its Big Tech that has given it the means to openly control, its provided a ‘soft prison’ for society, people can continue to exist within this soft prison whilst the revised resource constrained capitalism goes into over-drive.

I don’t know how to stop it – I think ultimately enough people just need to say no and not go along with it. Not sure that we have the numbers yet, but I think this year is going to be pivotal.

At least one virologist friend has dismissed this hypothesis, however, I am certainly fed up with people who play God, think you can inject millions or billions of people with products improvised at high speed and know what you are doing. The only thing which is predictable is that if it goes wrong they will deny everything.
I think this article rather too easily dismisses Bossche’s concerns. Bossche is not a lightweight and treating him as such won’t cut it. Saying that he makes dubious assumptions and then giving us the almost irrelevant quote from Dr Clare Craig will hardly overturn what Bossche is saying. Bossche has firmly thrown down the gauntlet and has asked scientists to prove him wrong. So far that has not been done. One concern about Bossche, is that he remains on youtube. Considering the explosive nature of what he is saying, that may be a perfectly valid point to ponder over.
Dear Will Jones, Please do not take this the wrong way. I am going to write a criticism of this article. I am not trying to take you or this article down. However, the subject of this article relates to a claim of potentially fatal damage to billions of people’s immune systems, so I am more serious than usual. In this article, you relied upon anonymous sources for support an unsubstantiated bias, invoking the banner of science as you did so. Considering this site is named Lockdown Skeptic, I know you understand the importance of correcting this problem. The place where you did that says, “We await detailed scientific rebuttals of the various claims in the paper. But the current feeling among a number of skeptical scientists we are in touch with is that the paper greatly exaggerates the capacity of viral variants to evade the human immune system.” If you can state the scientific rebuttals, you should add them to this article. Otherwise, you should change that passage to make clear you are providing unsubstantiated speculation in line with a bias making it impossible to mistake non-science for science. Funny how this never made a National Headlines in the “Interest” of PUBLIC SAFETY from such an eminent scientist!! Funny how Dr Crais’s DENIAL of Dr Bossche’s scientific Paper is just a few words without ANY scientific counter argument!! FUNNY TIMES I GUESS!!
Just as those who have taken a pro-lockdown stand often double down when confronted with evidence of their uselessness and wide-spread societal and psychological damage or simply try to bat it away as misinformation/conspiracy theory, those who have been cheering on the mass vaccination program do not want to be confronted with evidence that their confidence was misplaced and are apt to resort to the same kind of response.
We live in an age where people seem terrified of admitting that they might have got anything wrong and with the as yet untold story of the full extent of the damage done to tens of millions of lives it is perhaps understandable that the facilitators of lockdowns shrink from the horrific fruit of their actions. I truly hope and pray that those such as Dr Reiner Fuellmich who are endeavouring to put together class actions against the culpable will win the day but it will be the ultimate David and Goliath victory if they do.
This response is being willfully obtuse. Geert is simply saying that this corona variant SPECIFIC antibodies will dominate Our non specific antibodies weakening our immune system. Not just for corona variants but for all pathogens. This virus is a flu, this panic is idiotic. There are treatments available, why the insanity rushing to experimental vaccines? What illness do we send people home with no treatment until they are so sick they die? Merck admits there is no immune response they can reproduce or replace the natural immune response, it’s better to get it and recover. Science has long been corrupted by money, now medicine. To what end? Gates and his population reduction agenda. Only two ways to do that. Increase mortality and decrease fertility. This vaccines look to do both.
