Record Day for Covid Vaccinations in UK with 51% of Adults Now Jabbed

by Michael Curzon
21 March 2021 6:16 AM
Influenza vaccine injection. Injection into a patient's arm of the 2018/2019 seasonal influenza (flu) vaccine for the northern hemisphere season. This is a quadrivalent inactivated vaccine designed for intramuscular and subcutaneous injection. Inactivated influenza vaccines contain dead influenza viruses. When injected, these stimulate the body's immune system to produce antibodies that protect against future infection by live viruses. Influenza vaccination is recommended for the elderly, the very young, and anyone suffering from respiratory or circulatory disease. It is provided annually because of the need to protect against new strains. This is a vaccine from the Sanofi Pasteur Europe company.

The UK has set a new record for the number of people jabbed in one day, pushing the total number of adults vaccinated to over 50%. ITV News has the story.

The UK has set a new record for the number of Covid jabs given, the second time the record has been broken in two days.

The record number – 711,156 first and second doses – means that the major milestone of vaccinating half of the adult population has been reached.

Government data up to the end of March 19th suggests that 26,853,407 people aged 18 and over have now received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine – around 51% of the population – while 2,132,551 second doses have been administered. A separate milestone has been passed in Wales, where one in 10 of the total population is likely to have had both doses of the vaccine.

Boris Johnson was amongst those to receive a Covid vaccine on Friday, with all over-50s in England now eligible to book a jab.

Given the continuing success of its vaccine rollout, why is the UK still under strict lockdown? Other countries which have been slower in getting their populations jabbed are unlocking at much faster paces in order to preserve the aspects of life beyond that of merely existing. Steve Baker, writing in the Sun, is quite right to ask: “Why are restrictions tougher than they were last Summer – before we had the Covid vaccine?”

The scientists tell us that the vaccines save lives, yet our success at rolling it out is not translating into a return to normal life.

Following a recent warning of a “significant reduction” in vaccines next month, some suggested that lockdown could be extended even further. Rejecting this suggestion is not enough – with the most vulnerable now already vaccinated against Covid, we should be leaving lockdown sooner.

The report on the UK’s vaccine rollout is worth reading in full.

My suspicion here is that the government is holding the door shut so that the majority of the population get so fed up with the “you can’t be too careful” crowd that we will never listen to them again.

Perhaps it is time to name and shame those lobbying the government for continued caution and invite ridicule upon them.

Maybe but the government only has to stop listening to them, themselves.

“Why are restrictions tougher than they were last Summer – before we had the Covid vaccine?”

One of the reasons is that they are doing all this without knowing whether it is going to work, but that’s alright because if it doesn’t we will just have to have other vaccines that don’t work to cover it.

Essentially, the government are admitting that the objective of ‘leaky’ vaccines were just a fairy story aimed at using sunk investment – the real objective is continued lockdown. Forget the idea of any rationale.

… and, of course, the whole shit-show has actually delayed the necessary population immunity – far more effective.

Yes exactly, and the WHO declares that “attempts to reach ‘herd immunity’ through exposing people to a virus are scientifically problematic and unethical.”

”scientifically problematic and unethical.”

I wonder if anyone has informed Mother Nature of this moral dilemma?

The twisted logic goes like this – now that we have vaccines it would immoral not to lock down until everyone is vaccinated, because we have the chance to save more lives. I did say it was twisted. I still believe mass vaccination is the endgame, not lockdown, and the government misjudged the situation by thinking vaccinating the vulnerable and then opening up would be enough. Big pharma know that younger people won’t see the point of the vax unless it buys their freedom back, hence we stay locked up until all the doses have been administered, and the precedent of mass vaccinating non-vulnerable parts of the population with an experimental vaccine has been set. Hence all the ‘reasons’ given to young adults for having the vaccine have no basis in medical fact. It is all about making other people feel ‘more comfortable’ and ‘getting your life back’. I honestly don’t think ministers want this any more but they are not in charge, and are too scared to take charge.

You’d really think out of the large number of MPs there’d be one or two honourable and brave souls. Surely they can’t ALL be self-serving, arrogant, lily-livered, greedy, dishonourable cowards. Can they?

It is all about big money for the pharmaceutical companies and their cheer leaders.
Lots more evidence is emerging of the efficacy of early intervention with drugs such as Ivermectin and hydrochloroquine reduce hospitalisation for many and also help to prevent long covid setting in.
So many people received medical help until the symptoms were really bad. No money in the above two drugs so they have been roundly rubbished. Geert Vanden Bossche is receiving a drubbing for darling to speak against mass vaccination for Covid19. This is a very interesting discussion, definitely worth a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=focypkN82Q8
My own views on the vaccine is that all those over a certain age should have it if they want to but there should be absolutely no coercion for mass vaccination across all age groups. The push – led by the like of T Blair, for vaccination certificates/passports gives me the creeps. This is nothing new.

But, what is the vaccine working against? There is still no proof we are in (or have been in) a pandemic.

Wow, over half the adult population have allowed themselves to be injected with a chemical that they know nothing about, other than what these criminal ‘experts’ are urging them to believe.

And yet it’s still not enough to please the regime. Even at 70% they’ll claim the uptake is not enough to ensure the country is “covid-safe”.

The goal posts will continue to move like they are set in the shifting sands of the Sahara.

To the best of my knowledge and belief, these mRNA vaccines have only been used in farm animals until now, where life expectancy is very low.

Is the endgame to stop us from going abroad and sinking the value of the pound even further? Exports are down hugely, (40% did I read somewhere?). If tourism were to restart with no reciprocal rebound to the uk, (and who in their right mind would come here for a holiday), then the tourist value of the pound will drop potentially affecting market confidence and making the Euro and the Dollar even stronger. (And affecting our Moodys etc rating this cutting us off from lines of credit?).

If we stay in the UK, then all the pent up economic energy will be expended internally, which, given the size of our PS borrowing, is probably the best plan. Thinking on my feet here, but isn’t the best idea just to vaccinate everyone to delay them copping on, (whilst also enabling COVID to stay circulating a lot longer), then locking them in, but not down to wash all the money back into the UK economy?

I wouldn’t be surprised it that was the thinking but if so they are making a basic error in assuming people will automatically spend the money in the UK. Many will save up and wait, especially if they feel they are being held to ransom.

I for one have no intention of holidaying in the UK. I’m saving my money for ski slopes and Caribbean beaches. No matter how long it takes.

Then you are one of the fortunate ones, with time on your side. There are many many people who saved all their lives for their retirement travel, only to have the opportunity snatched away by these money-grubbing, self-serving nowts.

I wish you well – but don’t forget the ones who are coming to the end of their days and were hoping for a little more life before they popped their clogs.

Makes as much economic sense as obliging me to declare how much Sterling I was taking abroad on the assumption that such money was somehow ‘leaking’ out of the economy.

This was real as recently as the 1970s, the little space at the back of ones Passport assumed that the most any ‘normal’ traveller might want to to remove was the princely sum of thirty pounds.

What has this site actually achieved? The agenda was always to force you to be vaccinated with a gene based vaccine. Now your body is essentially a piece of hardware for “biotechnology” companies to install whatever they like on it. Then they get to license your freedoms back to you like you signed up to their Terms and Conditions.

This site just seems to whine about data used to lock us down, but doesn’t say anything about the vaccines we are being coerced to take. So what does that achieve? What are you going to do when the vaccines are “leaky” and don’t prevent transmission, in fact they end up incubating the virus and preventing herd immunity from ever being achieved? You won’t be able to say anything because you just wanted to get “back to normal”. Guess what, there isn’t going to be anything like a “normal” until you take it back.

Accepting that the vaccinations work, whether leaky prophylactic or otherwise, I think that their continued rollout under lockdown is a simple cover. The ONS ‘Coronavirus Infection Survey’ informs the percentage of population with antibodies, by pushing vaccination to all and to lower age, then the availability of a representative sample of the population for both antibody and T-cell response studies prior to vaccination is removed. If the Govt were taking a random sample of blood samples of those attending vaccination and reporting a daily update of the proportion of those that already had antibody &/or T-cell response then I would be a little more trusting. Without giving such an update it looks like there could be a simple plan to use vaccines to hide any evidence that might suggest herd immunity was being approached and lockdowns were futile.

I think fewer people have been jabbed than they are telling us. The narrative will change to ‘we still need more people to be vaccinated before we can get back to normal’, and turn more and more people against each other ie ‘it’s your fault we’re still in lockdown, you antivaxxer.’. Divide and conquer: the government’s go-to policy.

Don’t tell anyone you haven’t been ‘vakst’. It’s none of their business anyway. Don’t engage in the gleeful banter ”I’ve been jabbed! It was AWSOME!” – Or say you can’t have one ‘yet’ due to mental problems (ie ”I’ve got a brain”).
