Aviation Bosses Criticise Government’s “Unfair” Testing Plans for Overseas Travel

by Michael Curzon
6 April 2021 11:37 AM

Aviation bosses have criticised the Government’s “traffic light system” for resuming international travel, saying that the requirement for travellers to and from “green list” countries to be tested for Covid will price many people out of holidays abroad. The Mail has the story.

The new traffic light scheme will see countries rated green, amber or red using criteria including vaccination levels, case numbers and the prevalence of coronavirus variants.

Travellers returning from countries rated “green” will not be required to self-isolate, although pre-departure and post-arrival tests will still be needed.

EasyJet chief executive Johan Lundgren said the testing requirement should be ditched because if countries have cases under control and have extensive vaccination programmes then “green is green”.

He said paying for laboratory-based PCR tests would cost “way over and above what the cost is of an average easyJet fare” which would result in only opening up international travel “for people who can afford it”.

He said that would not be “fair” or “right” as he also questioned whether the approach was backed up by science.

His comments came after Mr Johnson said he is “hopeful” of resuming some non-essential foreign travel from May 17th but refused to give a firm commitment to the roadmap date.

Government regulations on testing for those travelling abroad has been widely criticised for adding so much to the cost of holidays. A Lockdown Sceptics reader recently highlighted the additional costs suffered by British travellers to France because of the requirement to have three PCR tests at a minimum of £120 each.

If you want to come back from France to the UK you have to provide a negative PCR test. That costs a very reasonable € 15… in France.

But on your return to the UK, you have to undergo two more PCR tests, on day two and day five after you arrive. For some mysterious reason, the cheapest tests in the UK are £120(!) each from Boots (and ridiculous amounts more from other providers). Even the Boots “bargain basement” cost adds an outrageous £360 to the total cost of a trip to France, as, of course, you need a PCR test outward bound too!

Lloyds Pharmacy has since undercut Boots’ PCR test cost… by £1.

The Mail’s report is worth reading in full.

So the government will give everyone 2 FREE lateral flow tests a week but anyone flying abroad needs to have an expensive test before and after travel
Clearly this is not about a virus but restricting the Hoi Polloi from their pre Scamdemic lives

Unless Innova have suddenly decided to gift us 100+ million tests a week, they’re not “free”.

We’ll be paying for them, and likely regardless of whether or not we actually use them. I wonder how many will end up going straight to landfill in order to keep the contract rolling.

The plan is to destroy commercial jet tourism travel aviation for the 99%.

All currently still on schedule!

I’m just wondering whether our Citizen Liberty Apps (née Vaccine Passports, née Track and Trace) will grant a few of us very occasional travel privileges based on buying carbon credits (i.e. bunging money to crony contractors), or on some sort of lottery basis.

If you’re on the Govt approved list to travel, you’ll be coded to fly for a wee bit longer…

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-travellers-exempt-from-uk-border-rules/coronavirus-covid-19-travellers-exempt-from-uk-border-rules

But as this ongoing destruction of the aviation industry grinds on, the commercial flights will simply disappear for good.

Private jet travel is booming, (obviously)

So it will be Eurostar only for the great unwashed virus riddled 99%s, and once the NHS bio-security-credit scoring is fully in place… only those with the approved QR code credits locked and on tap for being 100% compliant/obedient citizens will off course be allowed to board.

Rubber dinghies to France, it is then; making use of the ones abandoned on the Kent beaches?

Oh better than that. They’ll blend it with your car license and on certain days certain postcodes will be restricted from travelling beyond a certain range. How do you like them apples? These passports are the gateway to hell.

When they say “case numbers”, do they mean clinical cases, or positive test numbers, or positive test rates? Because they are very different things.

It will be fascinating to see if they go for the significant number, positive test rate, while still insisting on reporting UK total positive test numbers as “cases”.

Our positive test rate is now down to 0.28% (31st March), by the way. This is below the estimates for the false positive rates for both PCR and lateral flow mass testing, which will have to be adjusted down.

You need to let go of the case numbers, and whichever garage test system they invoke – whatever narrative is required, is simply dialled into the MSM propaganda fear casting machine – it’s all fucking irrelevant.

None of this is about public health, and never has been.  PMSL

It’s always been about capitalising on a non-deadly flu virus for societal change and control.

And ultimately it all ties into carbon credits and climate change, just as Bill told you, note how the ‘audience’ laughs…

I’m afraid that this is all irrelevant. We could have no deaths and no cases and it would make no difference – we are way beyond that and into the next phase which is controlling every aspect of our lives. Logic and rationality lost out early on. This is now a battle for our everyday freedoms.

So what is the point of the vaccination then?

Justification for tracking the compliance status of the population.
They need a “reason” for being able to continuously track where you are and whoo you are with.
Panopticon is the ultimate aim in other words.

To be able to introduce the vaccine passports while people are still scared of the disease and will agree to be vaccinated. We are then onto digital IDs and social credit systems. It was just a way in and too many haven’t seen it for what it is.

He is of course correct, but that does not fit the governments control and punishment agenda, nor the profit plans of Tory donors and their corrupted counterparts in parliament, the civil service and government.
And all testing remains medically useless until it is standardized with regard to ct numbers, amount and kind of gene snippets searched for, swab technique etc..
One might as well roll a dice instead.
For policy decisions, even such standardized results are useless until and unless put into relation to the amount of testing and the establishment of random cohort benchmarks.
Any swab technique and any test that is non-invasive is also illegal, as it impedes upon the right to ones bodily autonomy.
In addition, they are likely medically harmful due to EO use for
sterilization.
Testing in its past and current form is therefore nothing but criminal.

The mistake is to focus on Profits driven rather than agenda driven.
We would all be a lot richer / better off in a free world economy and that includes them at the top.
That they are more interested in control than in general wealth tells you the real motivation.

I am so ashamed of what our government is doing to its citizens — I honestly do not know how Boris Johnson, Hancock and Michael Gove can live with themselves.

I used to wonder how they faced themselves in the mirror in the morning. I now wonder if they’re even human. That they can treat people like this is beyond me!

If a company sold unreliable goods-we would claim our money back. Pay on a credit card and cancel – if these companies get charge backs – they’ll soon get fed up.
