Secondary School Pupils Must Continue to Wear Face Masks in Lessons After Easter

by Michael Curzon
6 April 2021 5:43 PM

The long-awaited return of children to the classroom last month did not lead to a surge in Covid infections, and the “vast majority” of positive test results in schools are likely to be false, according to reports. But the Department for Education (DfE), following a review, has not changed its guidance about secondary school pupils in England being advised to wear face masks in classrooms, as well as in communal areas. The Telegraph has the story.

Face masks in the classroom are to stay in place after the Easter holidays, the Government has announced, despite low Covid rates among school pupils.

Secondary students should continue to wear masks when they return to school for the summer term, in both lessons and corridors, as a “precautionary measure”, officials at the DfE said.

They explained that the policy will now be dropped as part of stage three of the roadmap out of restrictions, which will happen no earlier than May 17th.

Ministers have been accused of “betraying” children by continuing to insist on face masks in the classroom during the summer term, given the “serious harms” that they are potentially causing.

The UsForThem organisation, which campaigns against intrusive social distancing and mask-wearing measures in schools, is consulting its lawyers about this latest announcement.

Masks-in-class to remain until at least 17th May with an expectation they are then dropped as part of Step 3 out of lockdown.

Still no harm assessment, and no evidence of the promised review.

We are consulting our lawyers.@camillahmturner @JuliaHB1 https://t.co/8PZtxcHYnV

— UsForThemUK 🌟 (@UsforThemUK) April 6, 2021

Molly Kingsley, the co-founder of the group, has said: “It’s really disappointing that this measure remains in place for frankly a day longer given that there seems to have been no assessment of the harms it causes.”

We believe that the detriment to children of this measure is potentially serious and ongoing. It was not clear which evidence the introduction of this measure was based on, nor what evidence is that supports it still being in place.

This measure is manifestly not in the best interests of children. We were told it was a temporary measure, and it is another example of the Government moving the goalposts and yet another betrayal of children.

Worth reading in full.

This is an appalling continuation of a measure that cannot be shown to do anything but harm. Where is the requirement of government to show their evidence? Where are the legions of experts, of educationalists, of blah, blah, blah, who simply throw their arms in the air, take the money and say nothing.
Does Ofsted not have a view? Are they not paid to take a view?
Are there no head teachers who feel confident enough to say ‘Not in my school’?
The whole thing is an incredible exercise in moral cowardice.

The turds have undoubtedly risen to the top of the sewage with the continuation of overt child abuse.

Like so much else around this scam, the only answer is mass non-compliance. There is no way I would have allowed my children to be forced to wear masks in school, neither would any of my friends. Sadly though, I’m unsure of this generation of parents, whether they have the balls to fight over-reaching authority or, indeed, the time, since for most mothers, having a full-time job is not a choice, as it was when my children were young, but a necessity.

The ground was prepared for this, and for much else, long ago.

As for everything this lying and deceitful government do – introduce a measure “just for <insert short time period> and then it will be removed”. There is no getting rid of some measures once they are in place. All started with “three weeks to flatten the sombero …”

With nearly every ‘professional’ within the sector silent, muted, fearful. Can it really be about their worries for their pensions? Can they have so little understanding of the data, the facts?

What would it take for them to stand up and say this is child abuse?

Not all professionals have been silent on the matter, I’m an SLT, but have been silenced by employers & media. My professional body has been a huge disappointment on speaking up for the voiceless during lockdown, yet that is what we as a profession purport to do. Some of my colleagues in neonatal care have spoken out about the developmental harms to premature babies’ language development, bonding with parents & facial recognition of parents due to facemasks. I’ve written in support of psychologists against the measures & supported Us for Them as a professional.

I have no idea how masking has become a standard. Even Google is telling me about the importance of masks: masks are important with their pathetic little icons masked. This is absolutely bs! I want to just blow up. Don’t bother actually finding any scientific evidence; just do as we are told, I guess. Disgusting

The health effects of masks are horrific. Just as we see with the Nuremberg Code defying vaccine rollout, there are a multitude and short, medium and long term health consequences of masks which are being deliberately concealed from the public, in favour of the blanket mantra that it’s all good. Get rid of these criminals NOW! Facemasks in the COVID-19 era: A health hypothesis https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7680614/ Conclusion The existing scientific evidences challenge the safety and efficacy of wearing facemask as preventive intervention for COVID-19. The data suggest that both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to block human-to-human transmission of viral and infectious disease such SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, supporting against the usage of facemasks. Wearing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. Long-term consequences of wearing facemask can cause health deterioration, developing and progression of chronic diseases and premature death. Governments, policy makers and health organizations should utilize prosper and scientific evidence-based approach with respect to wearing… Read more »

Could it be if the government stood down masks in schools it would signal there was no emergency and so make it more difficult to pressure the parents to take the emergency vaccination. Isn’t there also a push to get these older children vaccinated? If there is no danger why bother.

Perhaps I am just being cynical?

Any decent teacher worth the name would encourage pupils to take off their masks in the classroom.

Any decent union would back members taking such a stance.

Any disciplinary action taken over the matter would be penalized by any proper court or tribunal.

… which, of course, doesn’t allow for the lack of common decency, by definition, under a fascist regime and its servile satraps.

Any decent parent would tell their child to claim the exemption.
And intelligent and freedom loving child would do it by him/herself anyway.
The real problem is that British adults abhor being regarded as controversial and circumspicious, whilst their children are all-in with the Great Reset agenda anyway.

Children and their parents who don’t claim the exemption only have themselves to blame.
“Civil disobedience is not our problem. Civil obedience is.”
This is so pathetically easy to circumvent in the UK, in particular compared with continental hellholes, that Britons simply have no excuse when they resign themselves into comicity, thereby enabling the other controls too.

Well perhaps they do have themselves to blame, I don’t know. I agree with the obedience problem you mention. Only today I had a run-in with supermarket staff over face covering. I do know the one of my girls still at school doesn’t want to wear a mask. I said I’d quite happily email the head to say so, as they are after all not mandatory. But the fact they would then be the only one without & the consequent standing out was too much to go through with it. They’ve enough to deal with (as we all do) with all this stupid pointless shit without me adding to it by pressurising her to single herself out. I’d guess you’d say we’re weak, well yes probably we are. There’s only so much wall-banging with my head I can cope with I’m afraid. I try to shrug off the almost constant guilt I feel about the world I’ve brought my children into & the ‘future’ they have to look forward to. I know it’s not my fault, it’s the maniacs in charge, but obviously I want the best for my kids; it’s pretty obvious that freedom in this country is finished… Read more »

We have exactly the same issue. I’m not willing for my innocent 12 year old to have to put herself on the line because adults are being so fucking stupid. We’ve made our feelings known to the school but my daughter would be the only one not wearing a mask and she just can’t find the bravery. It’s heartbreaking. And she s not weak. She’s just a kid trying to maintain friendships having had her life fucked up by the selfishness of adults.

Should any maths or science lesson be visited by an OFSTED inspector & be observed as having a mask wearing requirement, they should be ‘failed’ immediately.

I am still gobsmacked to think that these teachers are not protesting in the strongest terms about the abuse of their subjects, let alone pupils. Showing pictures of an old foreign bloke from 600 years ago is as nothing compared to this.

As masks are known to have deleterious effects on child health and increase the probability of lung cancer, those boosting or enabling mask wearing by children are personally liable for any long term health effects on those children.
“A new study finds that cultivation and enrichment of microbes on the face can infiltrate the lungs through unconscious aspirations and cause inflammatory responses and advanced stage lung cancer. The nose and the mouth were designed to take in oxygen without strain, uninhibited.”

Dr. Margarite Griesz-Brisson MD, PhD is a Consultant Neurologist and Neurophysiologist with a PhD in Pharmacology, with special interest in neurotoxicology, environmental medicine, neuroregeneration and neuroplasticity. This is what she has to say about facemasks and their effects on our brains:

“The reinhalation of our exhaled air will without a doubt create oxygen deficiency and a flooding of carbon dioxide. We know that the human brain is very sensitive to oxygen deprivation. There are nerve cells for example in the hippocampus that can’t be longer than 3 minutes without oxygen – they cannot survive.

The acute warning symptoms are headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, issues in concentration, slowing down of reaction time – reactions of the cognitive system.

However, when you have chronic oxygen deprivation, all of those symptoms disappear, because you get used to it. But your efficiency will remain impaired and the under-supply of oxygen in your brain continues to progress.

We know that neurodegenerative diseases take years to decades to develop. If today you forget your phone number, the breakdown in your brain would have already started 20 or 30 years ago.

Let’s in no doubt here: no matter what evidence is produced or by whom, the government, PHE, SAGE etc will continue to further their own frightening agenda. The only way to push back is through the courts who I think are still interested in hearing the evidence! Let’s just hope the judges are allowed to do their job impartially.

I am a teacher and parent of three children. As a teacher, I notice that teachers’ unions were in favour of extending the mask-wearing and my colleagues have by and large welcomed this. I said from the start that I would not wear a mask whilst teaching and that has not been challenged. I also told my pupils that they were free to so what they want in my lessons (I only teach sixth formers). About half the class does not wear a mask.

As a parent I see the same thing: my oldest son in sixth form says hardly anyone wears a mask but my 12 year old has no chance of doing anything differently. I blame the teachers and parents in this, rather than government. Most people have accepted the culture of fear and irrationality that is Covid.

You raise important questions. I have always thought that it is too easy to dismiss the power of brainwashing on the susceptible population – a sort of reverse virtue-signalling. But a year on, when the evidence is blindingly obvious, and in terms of a profession that should be alert to the obvious needs of children and adolescents – let alone being in a position of authority in terms of the transmission of knowledge … ? I’m getting less and less forgiving. Many moons ago, I was daily facing adolescent pupils, and later, young adults. Idle reflection ask the question ‘What would you have done?’ And the honest answer is that, at that time, and with my contemporaries, I just cannot conceive of some of the awkward, questioning buggers that I knew (particularly in the post-16 sector) submitting en masse to the current imposition of mass psychosis. Just can’t imagine it. Which raises the question of what has happened in the general environment to create such gullible submission? I don’t want to just indulge an unrealistic, mythical, old fart nostalgia. Things were certainly not a paradise of perfection. But I really find it hard to imagine reaching the current state of… Read more »

Masks also make it harder to teach. In big schools, being able to identify pupils is key to discipline.
And it also makes it impossible for teachers to read faces- did they get what I just said?

So as to distract from the mask wearing fiasco, Williamson has stated that mobile phones should be banned in school. This man is a major affront to decent people. He makes random statements saying that ‘the use of mobile phones distracts from healthy exercise and good old-fashioned play.’ He has no concern whatsoever though that makes distract from health overall. My daughter-in-law says the kids constantly touch and fiddle with the masks, and are distracted by them.
Williamson most likely has shares in a mask manufacturing plant.
Indeed the mask wearing in school is another of the government’s we did not mandate it, its the unions/ the parents/ the teachers/ but not our responsibility etc
