Nearly Nine Out of 10 Young Adults Want to Be Vaccinated Against Covid, According to New Survey – so What’s the Point of Vaccine Passports?

by Michael Curzon
9 May 2021 11:49 AM

Government insiders believe that domestic vaccine passports “may focus minds” and “nudge” young people into accepting Covid vaccines. But a new survey of 17,000 Brits suggests that nearly nine out of 10 young adults want to be vaccinated anyway. Vaccine acceptance rates barely differ across different age brackets, according to the survey. The Mail on Sunday has the story.

The vast majority of younger adults who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid say they are likely to take up the offer of a jab, according to a major new survey.

A poll of almost 17,000 Britons by ORB International, working with Imperial College and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, found younger people’s attitudes to vaccination barely differ from those of the middle-aged.

Among those aged 45 to 54 who have not yet been invited for their first jab, 85% said they would definitely or probably have the vaccine. For those aged 25 to 44, it was 84% and for those in the 18-to-24 age bracket it was 85%.

Given the enthusiasm for the Covid vaccines among younger populations, what is the point of introducing domestic vaccine passports, as the Government is currently considering? If anything, these could lead to fewer people (including young people) getting vaccinated, according to SAGE member Professor Stephen Reicher. Earlier this month, Professor Reicher (quoted in the MailOnline) said the Government was “setting itself up for failure” if it introduced such a scheme.

There is a very traditional, well-known psychological process called reactance: that if you take away people’s autonomy, if you force them to do something, they will reassert their autonomy, even if that means not doing things that they would otherwise want to do.

Making something compulsory, or at least doing something which leaves the perception of compulsion, can actually undermine activities which otherwise people would do and might even want to do.

Another Economist/YouGov poll of Americans suggests that almost 80% of people who oppose the Covid vaccine will never change their minds. “Never” presumably includes “even if vaccine passports were introduced” – again highlighting the pointlessness of imposing such a scheme, if the aim is to persuade the hesitant to be vaccinated.

More than two-thirds of British adults have now received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine and a large proportion of those who are most vulnerable to the virus have been fully vaccinated.

The Mail on Sunday report is worth reading in full.

Most people I know would say yes. You may just be lucky to have near and dear ones still capable of critical thought. And when they make it compulsory to partake in society, a lot of those who now say no will say yes.

Thankfully, my 2 are hermits anyway. I never thought them being gaming obsessed and anti social would be a good thing! The lodger is the opposite, always out, but he insists he won’t have it either. He’ll go without travel abroad and doesn’t do big events anyway. Only problem will come if pubs/restaurants are made to implement vax passports, especially since that’s his line of work.

There are a bigger number of sceptics among the under 25s than the 25-45 in my experience. Millenials seem to be the worst for critical thought, I still have hope for GenZ.

Jeez – we really are doomed aren’t we
Please someone – what is the point if they are in absolutely no danger of harm, it doesn’t immunise, and it doesn’t stop transmission?
The question isn’t ‘What is the point in the passport?’ – it’s ‘What is the point of the vaccination????’

“Making something compulsory, or at least doing something which leaves the perception of compulsion can actually undermine activities which otherwise people would do and might even want to do.”

People voluntarily stay home and avoid crowds if a truly deadly contagion is running through the population. So what is the justification for Lockdowns, again?

1. Without the threat of vaccine passports the takeup would be lower
2. Governments love issuing documents to control people
3. Governments love to be seen to be doing something
4. To make those who have been jabbed feel better about it

Exactly. If they don’t have them now, there’s going to be a lot of buyers remorse, given that most people I know under 50 had them saying “but you will need it to travel”

(though they’d singularly failed to think about how this might work in practice, with reciprocal recognition of different vaccines required (not likely, given dodgy Russian and Chinese ones), no information on durability of vaccines and many people unable to be vaccinated for various reasons)

Yes the reason why Israel issued the vaxx passorts was to incentivise young people to have the vaccination – to make them feel they had got something worthwhile in exchange. At the moment the only way I can manage to kind of ‘comfort’ myself and keep going is to tell myself that hopefully Fuellmich might succeed with his class action – there is an awful lot riding on that.

‘According to’ a survey by Orb, ‘working with’ Tropical School of Hygiene and Medicine (googling reveals a £40m grant from Gates Foundation). I’d like to know a little more about how they found the participants, as this doesn’t accord at all with what I’ve heard young people say.

Exactly. I do think amongst some groups of young people, they’re too willing to comply, without understanding the risk/benefits. Across the board though, it’s definitely a more mixed bag, with plenty of the young that aren’t at all willing to be part of the experiment.

When I was 18 the ability to think about the risks/benefits not only wasn’t there but wouldn’t have factored into the equation. When I look back from my current vantage point some of the decisions I made then were disastrous – the ones I made in the preceding years were even worse. Unless in the interim teenagers have evolved to be able to be better at decision making – which I see ABSOULTELY NO SIGN OF – then I don’t think too many of them are even giving a second thought to the immediate never mind the long term consequences of having the jab and as for ethics – well you can forget that altogether.

Correct. They are not educating the youngsters properly. They are actually manipulating them, not trying to explain how to do risks/benefits calculations etc – not just for this topic, but all sorts of other issues for whatever reason. Money talks, as ever.

Seems quite contradictory to the story below about vaccine doses being administered declining in the US.

But then that’s this whole crisis summed up really, isn’t it? Facts on the ground ignored in favour of polling and modelling and all that other bollocks.

I suspect that has more to do with people getting the first dose and suddenly becoming “vaccine hesitant” for the second for some reason….

Do you worry about the potential risks to your health that these experimental drugs may have, including those that have yet to become apparant? – No

Why not – Because the governnent says it’s safe.

Do you worry that if you don’t get the vaccine you won’t be able to go to the pub and on holiday – Yes

Why – Because the government says I won’t be able to if I dob’t get jabbed.

Hmm, ORB International, working with Imperial College and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine…a little scratch under the surface reveals all the same old fingers in the same old pies and all the usual connections. Bit like the IPIS MORIS poll which also produced similar results of vaccine excitement and expected take up.

Like all stories coming from the MSM I’m taking this one with a pinch of salt!
Like every other supposed ‘news story’ it seems to me there is no real evidence for making this claim, (young people wanting the jab) its just another nudge to make young people go along with it, and not feel left out. Another bit of psyops.
Our World In Data has some good graphs showing take up of vaccines in different countries etc.

More than two thirds of British adults are now genetically modified lifeforms.

If people have so little regard for their humanity and are quite happy to let the state and pharma companies tell them what proteins their bodies should be producing, I imagine that will make it a lot easier to depopulate when the time comes.

If large parts of your useless, resource consuming body is already patented and owned by those companies, why shouldn’t they have a right to get rid of you whenever they feel like it?

The simple fact is that you cannot un-take these VINOs. Once you have set those little spike protein hares running, there is no switching them off. It may be, in the future, that all countries agree that these VINOs are ok. It may be, in the future, that we will indeed require the VINO to be able to travel or see a film on the big screen or visit a garden centre. I will make up my mind then, when all the information’s in. I genuinely believe that is the only sensible option.

My my you just don’t get it do you. The vaccine is not there to save one from illness. It’s there to register you onto a grid that will be used for a multitude of control mechanisms from travel restrictions to digital currency (more like credit). Quite the contrary, its the passport they want, not to administer vaccines. The excuse to do it is a vaccine for COVID (an invisible enemy) But for such system to operate the train tracks must be laid first, hence the massive pressure to vaccinate.

I disagree.
The gene therapies themselves do also serve a direct purpose, the same that all restrictions and NPIs also served and serve: making as many people sick as possible over time without them noticing it immediately, to decrease the average life expectancy.

Oh yes absolutely but I don’t think the technology is there yet. I think the aim here is to get people on a “subscription” vaccine, particularly the mRNA where they can slowly change the composition of the vaccine over time without the need for proper approval and then use the variant excuse to get people back in for a jab (think of the first jab as windows 95 with subsequent “updates” lined up in the future without need for testing). The FED has done this in the financial space with FASAB 56, essentially allowing them to run books in a non-transparent way. Whatever the agenda is it’s clear that democratic procedures are considered as a roadblock, hence such powers must be overridden through to use of a false “crisis”. We have seen this happen already over the past year. And I assure you we are likely to see the end of any major populist upheavals (such as the election of a non establishment candidate or another referendum)

When I first heard the term “herd immunity” used in reference to Covid-19 I little thought that it would refer to the immunity of listening to other that the nonsensical propaganda served up by government and its pet scientists. If I, as a surgeon, were to offer an operation to a patient prophylactically for a condition they do not have, and may not ever encounter, but which the complications of that procedure could injure or kill them, the GMC would be contacted!
Will the vaccines cause increase susceptibility to other diseases in the long term? For us elderly it makes no difference but for the young however unlikely we do not know. If there is little risk of having serious consequences from a disease, prophylactic measures are a human experiment and is morally and ethically wrong. It is time that we clinicians who consider that it is time that the COVID-19 bandwagon was stopped. The oft used latin”primum non nocere” is as applicable to vaccine as it is to all medical interventions.

They are more than just “considering” the vaccine passport. It’s the entire raison d’être of the pandemic. In order to get the experimental “vaccines” into millions of arms, they needed a “pandemic”. They can’t end the emergency without some way to continue to coerce people to get jabbed. Hence the vaccine passports are the actual end-point of it all. End the emergency and there’s no reason for emergency approval of the experimental gene-therapy products and thus they can’t complete the Phase 3 trials. People will look much more carefully at vaccine adverse reactions in a “normal” trial and it’s likely to put off the eventual full approval for years. The aim is to get everyone to accept being jabbed a couple of times a year (at a price) and soon the cost will be pushed to the end user. Right now, it’s fear driving the vaccination campaign, soon to be replaced with coercion via the “vaccine passport”. You won’t be able to do ANYTHING without the explicit approval of the totalitarian regimes that will be able to withdraw your “priveleges” at the click of a mouse. Say goodbye to your RIGHTS, both civil and human. It’s a money-making scam with… Read more »
