Freeing Up Overseas Travel in Coming Months “Difficult”, Says Matt Hancock

by Michael Curzon
22 June 2021 11:21 AM

Unmoved by the discovery that fewer than one in 200 travellers from “Amber List” countries are testing positive for Covid when back in Britain, the Health Secretary says that it will be “difficult” to free up international travel over the coming months. The Government is concerned that relaxing travel restrictions could undo the success of the vaccine roll-out.

While the MailOnline reports that fully vaccinated Brits could be exempted from quarantine rules linked to Amber List countries from August (despite Matt Hancock saying that the move is not currently “clinically advised”), it seems unlikely that the number of countries on the “Green List”, which frees all travellers from the requirement to self-isolate, will increase much in the near future.

The Independent has more.

At present, the only viable holiday destinations from which quarantine is not required are Gibraltar and Iceland. Many other locations have far lower rates of coronavirus than the U.K., and the travel industry is calling for a rapid expansion of the… “Green List”.

The next review is due on Thursday, with Malta, Italy, Morocco and Spain’s Balearic islands all candidates for moving from the Amber List to Green…

On Sky News, Matt Hancock said the vaccine programme had freed up “a huge number of the restrictions here at home”. But he warned: “It is more difficult freeing up international travel.

“We have one of the tightest border control systems in the world and we have that because we want to protect this amazing progress we’ve made at home with the vaccination programme…

“We’ll get there when it’s safe to do so.”

The travel industry is staging a day of action at Westminster on Wednesday, calling for fewer restrictions on going abroad and financial support for agents, operators and airlines.

Worth reading in full.

It’s almost as if the virus is just being used as a vehicle for reducing travel, and that the prospect of future travel was just being used a vehicle for increasing vaccine take-up.

I wonder how angry the double vaxed are going to be when they realise they aren’t allowed to travel anywhere after all.

Probably not very angry. After all they have followed the narrative like sheep so far.

Just a booster jab, just four more weeks, just a bi-annual jab, just a microchip to monitor vitals. Although things could get nasty if they keep believing the Govt propaganda that the great unwashed refuseniks are entirely to blame for their freedoms not being returned.

Four British Airways pilots are reported to have died in a short space of time recently, in the 30 to 50 age range. Pilots are known to be some of the fittest among us, that’s just how it is, so for four to die in quick succession like that is remarkable, to say the least. BA have confirmed on Twitter the deaths are real. The initial report came out via a recorded phone call which stated that BA are now in crisis talks with GOVUK. 85% of their pilots are said to be jabbed. The person breaking the news was certain they are vaxx deaths, with pilots dying within days of being injected. Sky News (Australia? – clip below) reported that Spain and Russia are recommending that vaccinated people DO NOT FLY, in an irony of epic proportions, given that many Brits have rolled their sleeves up for precisely this reason ie to be able to get on a plane and fly without restrictions. Well it turns out they have been conned……again. It makes sense, there is an elevated risk of DVT from flying anyway, so combine that with the risk of clotting from the jabs, and all the unknown… Read more »

BA BA ha ha.
Precisely a nation of sheep herded by wolves. Did I read Tony Hanock correctly?
“We have the most secure borders ,,,”
How can these gangsters look at themselves when shaving, has he never heard of the thousands of illegals arriving monthly on the south coast?
Talk about ignoring unjust laws?
Around here most of the sheep have been shorn obviously not all – yet.

Well the double vaxxed are at increased risk of DVT due to one more of the list of impressive side effects of the experimental drug, so they are probably wise to keep off the planes anyway. When will someone do the kind thing and gag this awful excuse for a human being. He is clearly the child that noone wanted to play with at school because he was a tell tale sneak, we all know them, he probably ran home to his mummy who complained to the school and the kids who wouldn’t play were forced to be nice, He knows he has been hated all his life and now he is paying everyone back big time,

Handcock’s comments get increasingly absurd. What exactly does “clinically advised” mean? Does he seriously think anyone in the health mafia will advise anything except more restrictions? As for Boris’s “keep the country safe and stop the virus coming back in” that is almost beyond parody. Does he think the UK is Covid free????

I’m off to Spain in September come what may.

Pure hopium. They cannot leave lockdown as they’ve promised it’s the last one, so if they renege on that they’ll be called out as liars. Instead, expect more ‘delays’ and carrot dangling into August & September; then the seasonal winter flu kicks in along with new scariant narratives to keep the fear train juggernaut powering on. What comes next is pitting friends, family members and colleagues against each other, publicly supported vaccine apartheid & then eugenics program (ration healthcare based on social credit score & withhold for non-jabbed), then finally – the real agenda – augmentation of humans & transhumanism. Enslavement complete. It is important to have hope, but do not confuse it with hopium. Reach out to like minded people & set up networks to be able to buy and sell once the (two tier) society is fully realised. Old normal is gone folks, never coming back. We can only move forward, reject new abnormal & try and build small decentralised networks and communities, opt out of the smart cities, become producers not consumers. Good luck.

It does make you wonder what the hell is going on? Why aren’t BA and the whole travel industry suing the hell out of the government and personally threatening these medical professionals with attacks on their livelihoods. Have they all shorted their own companies?

In August, it will be 2 years since I last saw my mother and grandmother. My grandmother is 90. Keeping me from seeing her whilst she still walks this Earth is nothing short of criminal. Not all travel is for holidays and this is supposed to be a global country.

I am sorry to hear that.
I didn’t see my mother between August 2020 and May 2021. Two days after I saw her (the first time I was allowed to by the authorities) she died. Peacefully, at home, with family around I am happy to say, but no thanks to the authorities.

I hope you can see your mother and grandmother soon.

My dad died in April last year, locked up in a ‘nursing’ home. The last time I was ‘allowed’ to see him was March just before the lockdown. I was shocked when I was ‘allowed’ to see him once he had died. He had wasted away and looked skeletal, probably thinking he had been abandoned and no one cared. GP input minimal.

Bastard government and NHS.

I will never forgive or forget.

I will remember, always, what they did.

Apologies for my language.

“Freeing Up Overseas Travel in Coming Months “Difficult”, Says Matt Hancock”

It would be very easy, given a mere modicum of actual leadership – which means of course that it’s arguably very difficult for the likes of Hancock and Johnson.

Past pandemic planning (for flu, but it applies just the same to colds like this one) pointed out that closing borders was futile once the virus had established a foothold. So there is no justification for any restrictions on travel, except in those countries still deluded enough to be trying to keep it out. They should all just be ended, forthwith.

For all those suffering from the travel restrictions, they should know whom to blame. The government, directly, and indirectly, all those who promote and enable the ongoing panic overreaction.

If you don’t oppose that panic overreaction, then you yourself are to blame for the consequences you are suffering from.

Well, I’m not sure leadership is the issue, sadly.

Hancock is probably not super intelligent but neither is he a retard. In the coming months, the whole of the adult UK barring a few of us here will have been jabbed. At that point, by the govts own mad logic, it’s job done, given that they say the vaccines are effective.

If travel is still restricted, the justification can only be that the vaccines don’t work or that they don’t work against variants that could emerge. If they don’t work against variants that could emerge, there will never be a time when the govt will say it is safe to open. If they don’t work period then there will never be a time when it is safe to open.

So the only possible conclusion is that there is an intention, for whatever reason, to restrict travel indefinitely – it may be part of some plot, or just because they can, or to keep money in the country, or just to give the impression they are defending us from nasty foreign bugs, or to keep the fear going.

That, of course, is the alternative hypothesis.

I suppose it’s just possible that they have gone as mad as the majority of the population, but it seems unlikely. Everything points now to very bad faith actions, designed to keep them in control for as long as they hang on.

Well look at it this way. If you are anything like me, you know people who are highly educated and who operate at a reasonably high level (though not necessarily national executive level), who are 100% bought into the coronapanic. Genuinely.

And stupid in the everyday sense of the word. He might have a couple of degrees, but he is totally lacking in emotional intelligence so he thinks he’s a genius. His fantasy is mirrored by all the other goons who are controlling this hysteria and panic. He’s working in an echo chamber where all he hears is “Yes Minister”

Seems as though the real agenda is preventing ordinary people from using commercial aviation to go on holiday, visit family etc as part of the whole ‘green’ reset ideology. A couple of sadly misguided friends actually said to me during the first lockdown how wonderful it was that the air quality had massively improved since people had had to stop flying. Seriously. I keep saying to people like them that from now on, no-one will be flying anywhere, ever. Wonder how long it will take before the majority cotton on to the fact that no amount of jabbing, isolation, testing, locking down etc will allow normal international travel and tourism to resume….?

Tory core voters: octogenarian xenophobes: ‘we should have closed the borders and done what NZ did’.
Tory politicians: cowards, xenophobes and now solely engaged in an international p*ssing contest, in particular with Germany, on case incidence numbers alone.

Both your brother and the NHS worker are typical of the ill informed, media following clowns (from the left, centre and right) who have turned this country into a nation of pathetic bed wetters!! I am very left leaning, and I can tell you the left have been utterly useless in this charade!! NZ is a southern hemisphere country and seasonal respiratory viruses numbers tend to go in steps as opposed to two distinct peaks in N Hemisphere countries (ref Robert Edgar Hope-Simpson Transmission of Epidemic Influenza) so any comparison is complete nonsense. You have to consider the overall health and age population of a country. The UK and USA have large numbers of unhealthy people who are ALWAYS at higher risk from any ‘virus’ roaming and was hit badly, Northern Italy had a high % of elderly and was also hit (RIP). If closing borders stops transmission how come Vietnam (population 1.5 times that of the UK) which borders China hasn’t even recorded 100 deaths from CONvid? Did this virus circumnavigate Vietnam?? Did this ‘virus’ work out the GDP of that Vietnam, decide they couldn’t afford an expensive vax programme, and so left it alone? Having said all of… Read more »

Vietnam seems to be one of the 5-10 least obese countries in the world. It is also in the tropics, giving people abundant exposure to sunshine and reasonable vitamin D levels unless they stay indoors.

Result: a population with immune systems well-equipped to withstand a new virus, unlike some countries where many of the population are fat slobs (no names mentioned).

I live in NZ and I don’t think anyone should have done what was done here. Now the capital is back on Level 2 until Sunday. Don’t these politicians ever read about Florida vs California and see that the difference in their lockdowns made no difference to death rates? A country can’t function under threat of changes in restrictions at a moment’s notice, not to mention that months ago the PM said we’d have to learn to live with it. Mind you, she’s been shown to be a liar too.

Misinformation based on substandard non peer reviewed modelling , advice from public health zealots with no background or understanding of life sciences. To save him from accountability for the failing NHS Hancock is a ready recipient of this advice. Holidays at home are also a form of economic autarky designed as a sop to the hospitality industry. Its one giant racket.

A giant racket About The “Vaccines”. Watch Gates on Youtube, he says the world needs miracles to save the planet. Miracles like Microsoft. RNA vaccines are part of his “miracle” plans, and elderly deaths from them highly acceptable collateral: that’s Death Panels, as he notes. Alas, unlimited money almost always corrupts, because money is power.
If he succeeds we and our children will own nothing, except hope for more wisdom from suffering than he can envisage.

No, it’s not difficult at all Hancock. Either the vaccine works or it doesn’t. If it does, then for God’s sake let the airlines fly. If it doesn’t, then there’s no point in having it. I don’t need you to keep me safe. I’ve been doing that myself for 60+ years very successfully. Get the hell out of my life and stop pretending you are the saviour of the country. You aren’t, you’ve broken it beyond repair. Thankfully I’m currently in Greece until at least September and out of your reach, after 8 cancelled flights. Or are you more worried about your shares in genomic sequencing companies?
