UEFA Officials Allowed to Visit U.K. Without Quarantine

by Michael Curzon
22 June 2021 11:57 PM

The chances of Brits holidaying abroad this year are slim at best. But the Government, while enforcing severe restrictions on its own citizens, has decided to allow almost three thousand football “VIPs” to attend the Euro 2020 finals without having to abide by quarantine rules. The Telegraph has the story.

Ministers are facing a backlash from senior Tory MPs over the decision to exempt UEFA officials, politicians and sponsors from having to self-isolate for 10 days on arrival in the U.K.

It comes days after it was reported that UEFA had threatened to move the matches to Budapest unless ministers relented on the quarantine rules. Sources said the U.K. would have lost out if it had failed to compromise.

While the agreement still needs final sign-off by public health officials, sources told the Telegraph the exemption was due to commence on July 5th – a day before the first semi-final at Wembley. It will remain in place until after the final, which is being played on July 11th.

The number of VIPs due to travel to the U.K. is expected to be in the “low thousands”, although Government sources say many will only remain for one match.

The exemption was personally negotiated by Dan Rosenfield, Mr Johnson’s Chief of Staff, who is an avid football fan and supports Manchester United. The details emerged after ministers announced on Tuesday that the capacity at Wembley would be increased to 75%, enabling 60,000 fans to attend the semi-finals and final.

The VIPs will be required to provide a negative pre-departure test and undergo testing during their stay. They will be allowed to stay in tournament hotels and travel between matches and official meetings, but will be told to limit their movements outside these permitted activities. It was unclear whether they will be allowed to dine at restaurants.

David Davis, a former Cabinet minister,  said the decision on VIPs was “morally inconsistent”, while another MP said it was “absurd and indefensible”.

British holidaymakers currently have to isolate at home for 10 days and pay for at least two PCR tests if they visit “Amber List” countries, from which the vast majority of the football VIPs will be coming.

On Thursday, ministers will consider exempting fully vaccinated Britons from quarantine on their return from amber destinations, but the change is not expected until after the Euro finals. Holidaymakers are also likely to still face expensive PCR tests in order to track variants.

Following the egregious flouting at the G7 party we now have the Euro party.

Doubtless the ‘officials’ and fuckin hangers on will be accompanied by retinues of masked slaves. I bet Bozo genuinely believes he is recreating the Imperial Rome of his wet dreams; the evil, sick Fucker.

Four British Airways pilots are reported to have died in a short space of time recently, in the 30 to 50 age range. Pilots are known to be some of the fittest among us, that’s just how it is, so for four to die in quick succession like that is remarkable, to say the least. BA have confirmed on Twitter the deaths are real. The initial report came out via a recorded phone call which stated that BA are now in crisis talks with GOVUK. 85% of their pilots are said to be jabbed. The person breaking the news was certain they are vaxx deaths, with pilots dying within days of being injected. He reported three deaths but BA confirmed there have been four. Sky News (Australia? – clip below) reported that Spain and Russia are recommending that vaccinated people DO NOT FLY, in an irony of epic proportions, given that many Brits have rolled their sleeves up for precisely this reason ie to be able to get on a plane and fly without restrictions. Well it turns out they have been conned……again. It makes sense, there is an elevated risk of DVT from flying anyway, so combine that with the… Read more »

I can concur with that view of risks to do with DVT and travelling at reduced air pressure, given what happened to someone I know a few years ago. He had a minor injury (at the time), which ended up with a blood clot causing ‘pulmonary embolism’. Had a couple of hours on a 737 with Ryanair. Spent a bit of time in hosp on enhanced oxygen for a while, then a period of time on rat poison to reduce the risk etc. Could happen to anyone if the drug on offer actually causes blood clots.

My daughter suffered DVT when she flew back from Costa Rica ten years ago. The connecting flights were delayed and she spent long hours in a tiny seat on a flight to Houston, waited six hours sitting in a connecting area due to flight delays and then 14 hours into Gatwick. One week later she collapsed at work.

She is OK now but it was a very sobering experience and she hasn’t flown since.

When I worked in A&E we had a young lady who had developed a pulmonary embolism after a 12 hour coach journey and subsequently died. If someone is on the contraceptive pill they are at a higher risk of PE/DVT. Sitting still on any transport can cause a PE/DVT.

We have extremely stupid folk living on this planet. They are selfish and unprincipled. All they were concerned about was a holiday in the sun. That they have now played into the eugenicists hands is their problem. That they have endangered us all to a life of suppression is something we need to stop.

I noticed that all the Remainers in the Referendum were concerned about was their cheap holidays to mainland Europe. Oh how easy it is to brainwash the ‘educated’

You’d be surprised how many Brits living in Spain voted Leave – a lot of them “off the grid” so no way of proving residence. Now they’re whingeing because they can’t get back into Spain from the UK!

Everyone should have been in London on 21 June but they couldn’t be bothered to make the sacrifice. It was very disappointing. Those of us with a love of our country are being deeply let down by those who really do not understand the damage their selfishness does. God help us if we really do have to put our shoulder to the wheel. We have been completely hollowed out.

Why are we surprised about this hypocrisy? From a Government whose leader has the morals of an alley cat and whose member give £ million contracts to chums this is just part of their normal behaviour. Total venality

And to rub salt in the wounds they’ll be staying in luxury accomodation. Contrast that with the appalling conditions of the quarantine hotels.

‘Compromise’ is not the correct word, is it? Correct usage of the language would mean employing ‘cave in’ or ‘surrender’. It is unlikely that the public will be impressed by the idea that they still have to abide by rules whilst a VIP group do not. In order to avoid a public relations disaster the government could simply end all restrictions a little earlier than planned – it will make absolutely no difference to the progress of the pandemic in any case.

It’s all about the money, as ever. And “prestige”. And rubbing shoulders with the ‘great’ and the “good”. Screw science, screw public health and screw us! Also shows that ‘they’ really know this whole charade is total b.s. BASTARDS!

Oh how the bread and circuses are played to the stupid. The footie fans should boycott the matches on principle ……but they won’t.. and therein lies the collapse of a great nation.

Face the facts these people led by Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock are now literally getting away with murder, discrimination, eugenics and crimes against humanity. these claims can be backed up by, The thousands of old people turned out of hospital to die in isolation in care homes The denial of health care to millions causing a backlog of 5 million people on the NHS waiting list, and a Tsunami of untreatable cancers, and heart disease Discrimination, Matt Hancock DNR orders on the elderly and mentally infirm, Apartheid society created through preventing those that choose not to take an experimental unlicensed drug, executed through restrictions on travel, jobs, and society. Eugenics, using humans of all ages shortly to include children to test out experimental medical treatments without proper informed consent, using coercion, and to persist in promoting this drug without it having being fully licensed, tested and without longterm medical data, with the knowledge that in the UK alone over 1200 people have dies and over 800,000 have been negatively impacted by the drug, and still this Government threatens those that will not take it. Crimes against humanity. Enforced isolation, removal of sources of income and livelihood, removal of Education,… Read more »

What negotiation? It looks like capitulation to me.

“All travellers from orange list countries such as France must present a negative Covid test on arrival (PCR test or antigen test) and must then pay for one of the compulsory travel testing kits to use while there – these are expensive, costing from around £160 up to £300 depending on the provider.
Travellers also have to quarantine for 10 days on arrival, although this can be done at home or with family or friends. There is an option to pay an extra £150 to end the quarantine on day 5, after a negative Covid test.”

I swear there will one day be a terrible reckoning for those who have blatantly exploited covid for financial gain…
